Rubber Testing Solutions

Testing of rubber materials commonly requires test machines capable of measuring a very high strain in addition to testing at temperatures above and below ambient.

Some of the most common test types within rubber testing are tear, tensile testing, compression testing and relaxation testing. These test types are among some of the many types of tests that can be performed using high-precision test machines.

Chatillon offer handheld force gauges, manual and motorized test stands, and digitally controlled test machines for use in production, quality and R&D in the plastic industry.

Lloyd Instruments universal testing machines with material testing software and appropriate fixtures are used to determine the physical and mechanical properties of raw materials and components, as well as for product testing of finished products. Lloyd Instruments also offer extended column machines ideal for rubber applications that are compatible with long travel contacting and non-contacting extensometers.

Thermal chambers for rubber testing between -70°C and +300°C are also available for the study of material properties at temperatures other than ambient.

Typical applications for rubber testing include:

- Automotive rubber parts

- Belts

- Condoms

- Conveyor belts

- Fitness / Sports / Playground surfaces

- Industrial rubber products

- O Rings

- Rubber lined parts

- Rubber mats / rubber–backed carpets / rubber underlay

- Rubber seals

- Shoe soles

- Tyres
